Do I need a Bartending License?

It's surprising how many times I get asked this question:  Do I need a bartending license?

Nope!  There is no such thing.  Only the establishment needs a liquor licenses to serve alcohol, the bartenders don't need to be licensed to serve the alcohol at the establishment.

Now, some states require that you get a Food Handlers license or even an Alcohol Training certificate.  DO NOT confuse these with a bartending license, which does not exist!

Those certificates do not train you on how to bartend, they simply certify you as someone who has taken a course on how to safely serve food or alcohol so that you avoid getting into trouble with the law or avoid getting the establishment into trouble. They do not teach you how make cocktails or anything like that.

However, BartendingSchool.today is a complete online bartending school course that will teach you how to become a bartender from the comfort of your own home. You will learn the most popular cocktails, how each spirit is made, how to recognize glassware, proper garnishing, career guidance and more!
